Having trained at London College of Fashion to be a make up and hair artist, Sue Day’s first role after graduation was in the Hair & Colouring department at Madame Tussauds, where she learnt to adapt and utilise her skills in making wax and silicone figures for all of their exhibitions.
She spent 21 happy years there, reproducing countless famous figures, both past and present. During this time she was lucky to meet Billy Connolly, Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L Jackson, Susan Sarandon & The Spice Girls!
In 2005 she decided to go freelance, in order to widen her skills and explore other types of work. This has given her the opportunity to work in Ecuador, Brazil, New York and Virginia on various projects and meet some amazing people. She has also worked on Commissions for Artists, Gillian Wearing & Gavin Turk.
She really does feel very fortunate to do a job she adores and never tires of.
