At our September meeting, Dr Ruth Stalker-Firth will be ‘Demystifying AI’. Ruth is a computer scientist and human-centred AI consultant. In response to what she sees as growing hype and nonsense around AI she will discuss how and why it was created and what it can and can’t do.

Join us for a fun and relaxing watercolour workshop where creativity and conversation flow together. Whether you're a complete beginner or have painted before, you'll enjoy learning simple watercolour techniques while socialising with fellow members in a welcoming atmosphere. Barbara Nadel, award-winning crime author, will be interviewed by member Bryony at our 11 March meeting. She was born in the East End of London and set her Hakim and Arnold series of books there. Her Inspector Ikmen series, recently televised by BBC, is set in the colourful and complex city of Istanbul. Barbara trained as an actor prior to starting writing and has worked in NHS psychiatric services and remains connected to charities concerned with mental health.
